Additional Procedures
Select any of the procedures for additional information on Powermanager Modbus Adapter.
Edit or Delete a Device
- Select Applications > Powermanager > [area] OR [sector].
- Select the device that you want to edit or delete in the powermanager tree.
- In the Main expander within the Device Configuration expander, uncheck the Use Area Settings checkbox.
- Do one of the following:
- Perform the required updates and click Save to save the updates.
- Perform the required updates and click Save As to create a new copy of the device.
- Click Delete to delete the device.
NOTE: You cannot delete a physical device if one or more of its measurement points is used as a source measurement point in any other physical or logical device.
- The configuration changes are saved.
Update a Device
- Select Applications > Powermanager > [area] OR [sector].
- Select a PAC1200 or SEM3 device that you want to update from the system tree.
- Perform the required configuration changes.
- Click Update .
- The configurations are reimported based on the IP address, username, and password specified in the communication section.
NOTE:
Update is enabled on load and it is disabled when Save is enabled.
Move a Device
- Select Applications > Powermanager > [area] OR [sector].
- Select the device that you want to move to another location in the powermanager tree.
- Select the device and click Move .
- In the Save Object As dialog box that displays, specify the new location for the device and click OK.
NOTE: The settings of the area are applied to (inherited by) the moved device if Use Area Settings is selected in the Device Configuration tab for that area. Otherwise, the custom device configuration is applied.
- The device is moved to the new location.
Create Powermanager Devices in Bulk
- You have created the CSV file with the information on the devices to be imported.
- Select Applications > Powermanager.
- Click the Bulk Device Creation tab.
- Click Browse.
- In the Open dialog box, select the CSV file to be imported.
- The details of the devices display.
NOTE: If the device is already present in the system, it is highlighted in yellow. If there is an error in the device specification, the device is highlighted in red.
- Select the check boxes corresponding to the devices you want to import.
NOTE: Select the Overwrite if devices exist check box if you want to create the devices that are already present in the system.
- Click Create devices.
- A success message displays on successful creation of the devices. The selected devices are created and displayed in the System Browser tree according to the structure defined in the CSV file.
NOTE:
A log file is created with the details of the status of the devices in bulk device creation. You can find the log file in project log folder.
Duplicate sector names must be taken care while adding the CSV content during bulk device creation.
Create, Configure and Associate Network
- Create and Start the Modbus network driver.
- Associate the Modbus Network with the Modbus driver. (See Modbus).
Assign the Network Name
- Set the Network Name for Powermanager. Do the following:
a. In System Browser, select the Application View.
b. Select the Powermanager node.
c. In the Network Configuration expander select the Modbus protocol and assign the network name under the Network Name column.
- Next, assign the storage groups to the created storages.
- You can now configure the supported devices and work with Powermanager.
