Launching a Live Announcement
Perform either of the procedures to launch a live announcement from a command, device, graphic, or location.
NOTE:
Live announcement is available only for MNS license users.
Launch a Live Announcement from a Device
- The targeted device is available under Project > Field Networks.
- The targeted device is added as a recipient.
- The status of the device should be
Connected
.
- System Manager is in Operating mode.
- In System Browser, select Management View.
- Select Project > Field Networks, or select a device from the specific location or graphic.
- A list of existing field networks along with the respective devices displays.
- Select the device for sending the notifications.
- The device details and the status display in the Textual Viewer tab.
- Select the Related Items tab.
- Open the Operating Procedure expander.
- Click New Notification Live Announcement.
- The Ad Hoc Live Announcement starts and the corresponding details display. Select the Browse Incidents tab.
NOTE: If the push pin button is locked , the Ad Hoc Live Announcement details display.
Launch a Live Announcement from Recipients or Recipient Groups
- The targeted recipients are available under Notification > Recipients.
- System Manager is in Operating mode.
- In System Browser, select Application View.
- Select Applications > Notification > Recipients.
- A list of the existing recipients and recipient groups displays.
- Select a recipient or a recipient group for an incident that is to be initiated.
- The recipient details display select General > System user details > User Devices, and Group Membership expander.
- Select the Related Items tab.
- Open the Operating Procedure expander.
- Click New Notification Live Announcement.
- The Ad Hoc Live Announcement starts and the corresponding details display.
- Select the Browse Incidents tab.
NOTE: If the push pin button is locked , the Ad Hoc Live Announcement details display.
Launch a Live Announcement from a Location
- The targeted location is available in System Browser.
- The targeted location is added as a recipient.
- System Manager is in Operating mode.
- In System Browser, select Application View.
- Select the required location.
- Select the Related Items tab.
- Open the Operating Procedure expander.
- Click New Notification Live Announcement.
- The Ad Hoc Live Announcement starts and the corresponding details display. Select the Browse Incidents tab.
NOTE: If the push pin button is locked , the Ad Hoc Live Announcement details display.
Launch a Live Announcement from a Graphic
- The location and the device associated with the graphic are added as a recipient.
- System Manager is in Operating mode.
- In System Browser, select Application View.
- Select Applications > Graphics.
- A list of existing graphic folders displays.
- Select the graphic to be viewed.
- The graphic details display in the Default tab.
- Select the Related Items tab.
- Open the Operating Procedure expander.
- Click New Notification Live Announcement.
- The Ad Hoc Live Announcement starts and the corresponding details display. Select the Browse Incidents tab.
NOTE: If the push pin button is locked , the Ad Hoc Live Announcement details display.
Launch a Live Announcement from Command
- System Manager is in Operating mode.
- In System Browser, select Application View.
- Select Applications > Notification > Notification Templates.
- Select the configured live announcement template to be launched.
- Select the Extended Operation tab.
- (Optional) Enter the callback number in the Callback # field.
NOTE 1: If the callback number is entered, the corresponding number will replace the number specified in the Source field during configuration of the live announcement template.
NOTE 2: If the Callback # field is left blank and in the Source field, the Call logged-in operator’s phone option is selected during configuration of the live announcement template, Notification will call the phone number of the logged-in system user.
NOTE 3: If the system does not reach phone numbers with a leading “+”, leave out the leading “+” or replace the “+” with the respective international phone number prefix (for example, 001 for the US, 0049 for Germany).
- Click Start to launch the live announcement template.
- The selected live announcement template is launched and automatically started.
