Migrating or Upgrading SPC
You can directly upgrade to V6.0 from V4.0 or higher. To upgrade from older Desigo CC versions, you must upgrade through intermediate steps. See the instructions below.
Upgrading Desigo CC with SPC to V6.0
- From Desigo CC V4.x or V5.x, just follow the standard Desigo CC upgrade procedure for V6.0 .
- From older versions, you must first upgrade to V4.x or V5.x (see instructions below), and then follow the standard Desigo CC upgrade procedure for V6.0.
Upgrading Desigo CC with SPC to V 4.x or V5.x
- From Desigo CC V3.x, you can follow the standard Desigo CC upgrade procedure for V4.x or V5.x.
- From Desigo CC V2.x, you can follow the standard Desigo CC upgrade procedure for V4.x.
- From Desigo CC V1.x you must first upgrade to V2.x or V3.x, and then follow the standard Desigo CC upgrade procedure for V4.x or V5.x.
Upgrading SPC Panel from Earlier version or Protocol Change (EDP to FlexC)
A new import of the SPC configuration file is required.
Migrating from Sintony to SPC Intrusion System
You can replace Sintony panels with SPC panels without affecting the field network. Sintony detection lines and peripheral devices do not need to be replaced. In fact, the SPC control panels can connect to existing Sintony lines via the dedicated hardware module SPC E-bus Gateway (SPCG310).
- For more information about characteristics and limitations of the Sintony migration path, refer to the Sintony System Migration white paper (December 2013).
The management platform supports the SPC E-bus Gateways and the connected lines, which will appear in Desigo CC as SPC objects.
In Desigo CC projects, Sintony configurations cannot be reused after the migration to SPC. In case you need to modify a project and replace a Sintony with SPC, proceed as follows:
- Take note of the Sintony intrusion configuration in Desigo CC, including graphics, event handling operating procedures, automatic reactions, and so on.
- Remove the Sintony panel.
- Create a new SPC panel.
- Import the SPC configuration that includes SPC E-bus gateways and lines.
- Following your notes, configure the SPC intrusion subsystem as required.
