Additional Managed Meters Procedures
This section provides information on historizing managed meter information in case of meter replacements, meter movements, and meter rollovers. Additionally, procedures for historizing managed meter information in bulk and detecting irregularities in managed meters are also discussed in this section.
Historizing Metering Point and Media Unit for Meter Replacements
- You have created a managed meter and it displays in the Managed Meters folder in the System Browser.
- System Manager is in Engineering mode.
- In System Browser, select Application View.
- Select Applications > Energy and Power > Managed Meters > [managed meter].
- The managed meter details display.
- Replace the metering point in the Metering Point field with a different metering point.
- (Optional) Change the media unit in the Media Unit (input) field.
- Click Save .
- The metering point and media unit values are historized as per the current date and time.
Historizing Path for Meter Movements
- System Manager is in Engineering mode.
- You have created a managed meter and it displays in the Managed Meters folder in the System Browser.
- In System Browser, select Application View.
- Select Applications > Energy and Power > Managed Meters.
- From the Managed Meters folder, select a managed meter.
- The managed meter details display.
- In System Browser, select Management View.
- Select Project > System Settings > Views.
- Create a new user-defined view (for example, Energy View) and add the nodes (for example, Campus, Building, and Floor) below this view. Associate the managed meter to the Floor node. This indicates that the managed meter is associated with the Floor.
- Click Save .
- The information on the new path is historized as per the default date. The historized entry displays in the Historized Meter Path dialog box.
- Navigate to the aggregator node in the Energy View and remove the managed meter. The managed meter is removed from this location.
- Click Save .
- Select the managed meter and click Apply Historization .
- In the Enter Valid From dialog box, specify the date and time when the meter was removed from the view and click OK.
- The information is historized. An additional entry with the date and time displays in the Historized Meter Path dialog box and has a strikethrough mark to indicate that the meter is removed from the view.
- Repeat Steps 6 through 10 to create another floor (for example, Floor2).
Historizing Offset for Meter Rollovers
- System Manager is in Engineering mode.
- You have created a managed meter and it displays in the Managed Meters folder in the System Browser.
- In System Browser, select Application View.
- Select Applications > Energy and Power > Managed Meters > [managed meter].
- The managed meter details display.
- Specify the offset value in the Offset field after the meter has rolled over to 0, reached the maximum meter reading, or reset to 0 due to repair.
- Click Save .
- The information on the new offset value is historized by default to the current date and time.
Historizing Managed Meter Information in Bulk
- System Manager is in Engineering mode.
- You have created the managed meters and they display in the Managed Meters folder in System Browser.
- In System Browser, select Application View.
- Select Applications > Energy and Power > Managed Meters.
- Perform one of the following steps:
- If you want to specify the same date for all the meters in the Enter Valid From dialog box, select the Managed Meters folder and click Apply Historization .
- If you want you specify different dates to the meters in the Enter Valid From dialog box, then select the meters for which you want to specify identical dates and click Apply Historization .
- The information of the multi-selected meters is historized.
NOTE:
The layout of the Enter Valid From dialog box in the web client might be different due to technical limitations.
Detecting Irregularities in Managed Meters
You can detect meter irregularities using one of the following methods:
Creating a Reaction
You can create and configure a reaction that detects the irregularities on execution
- System Manager is in Engineering mode.
- In System Browser, select Application View.
- Select Applications > Logics > Reactions.
- Click the Reaction Editor tab.
- Open the Output expander and then the Action expander.
- Drag the managed meters folder to the Action expander.
- Set the value of the property to Check Irregularity.
- Set the value to the command to Execute (Write) and in the Value field, specify the number of days for which you want to run the irregularity check.
- Open the Triggers expander and then the Time and Organization Mode expander.
- Specify the time when you want to schedule the execution of the reaction.
- Click Save As .
- The reaction is now configured and will execute at the specified date and time to detect the managed meter irregularities. For example, if you want to run the irregularity check every night, you can set the value to 1 and the time to a value post midnight (For example, 1.00 A.M.). This will run the irregularity check every night for the previous day's meter readings. Any irregularities detected will be reported as an event in the event list.
Setting the Check Irregularity Property
- System Manager is in Engineering mode.
- In System Browser, select Application View.
- Navigate to Applications > Energy and Power > Managed Meters folder.
- Click the Meter Management tab.
- Navigate to the Check Irregularity property in the Operation tab.
- Specify the number of days for which you want to track the meter irregularity in the Days field and click Execute.
- The meter irregularities for the specified number of days are detected and reported as an event in the event list.
